We are looking for an System Architect (PCS7 Engineer) to expand our engineering team. This engineering team is mainly involved in automation and digitalization, such as plant automation, unit control systems and telemetry systems. 

Our work is internationally oriented. The dividing line between the departments is thin and during the execution of automation projects we work together in a close and pleasant way. You will be given a lot of personal responsibility and space to tackle your work in your own way. The emphasis is on engineering, as much as possible from our office in Assen and partly from your home workplace. We work a lot in (inter)national teams, where consultation usually takes place via MS Teams, but certain

activities require a visit to one of our other locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Algeria or a customer location. You may have to carry out test work and/or commissioning at home and abroad. You work in a small team and have regular contact with fellow engineers and project managers, with whom you are jointly responsible for the project realization from the basic engineering phase to the customer's acceptance test. At the beginning of a project, you work in good cooperation with the rest of the project team to give it a flying start.

For example, you are involved in:

• The detailed engineering work:

- Configuring hardware in PCS 7;

- Building a test setup, both hardware and software;

- Programming PCS 7 applications (ICSS), both BPCS and SIS systems;

- Translating input information and requirements into project-specific implementations.

• Factory Acceptance Test (FAT):

- Performing an acceptance test together with the customer, alone or together with a colleague.

• Commissioning:

- Commissioning what you have made and/or tested in-house;

- Discussing, solving, testing and releasing issues found;

- Performing and handling a Site Acceptance Test (SAT).

• Start-up phase:

- Assisting the customer in starting up the new/modified installation.

What do you need

As a System Architect (PCS7 Engineer), you are responsible for detailed engineering and you use our engineering environment, engineering standard and specific in-house developed libraries. In addition, you are responsible for testing these applications. In everything you and we do, quality and reusability are paramount. You should have experience with PCS 7, by building applications based on existing libraries. If there are missing building blocks in the current library, the engineer should communicate this to the PCS 7 designer, so that adjustments and/or new blocks can be developed for the library.

You have a higher professional education level with an affinity for Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and/or Technical Computer Science.

You are interested in and/or have knowledge of (at least 3 or more of the following items):

• Automating processes and/or machines;

• Process Control System: PCS 7 / PCS Neo and/or TIA;

• Communication protocols: Ethernet, Profibus, ProfiNET, Modbus (TCP), OPC UA;

• Network architecture and security of industrial automation systems;

• Design tools: COMOS / Plant Automation Accelerator (PAA);

• Programming experience with: S7 SCL, VBA, .NET, Python;

• Safety programming experience with: Simatic F-Systems and/or Distributed Safety;

• Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE).
