For a leading international engineering company operating in the energy and process industry, we are looking for a Senior Field Instrument Engineer. In this role, you will support the Lead Instrument Engineer in the engineering and technical evaluation of field instrumentation within complex EPC projects.

You will play a key role in the selection, specification, and integration of field instruments, ensuring proper alignment between instrumentation, vendor packages, and the overall plant design.

The role also involves supporting vendor bid evaluations, engineering reviews, and instrument design activities, working closely with multidisciplinary project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Field Instrument Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Lead Instrument Engineer with instrumentation engineering activities
Assisting in the technical evaluation of vendor bids for field instrumentation
Reviewing supplier proposals and ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards
Selection and specification of field instruments such as pressure, flow, temperature, and level instruments
Preparing and reviewing instrument requisitions and datasheets
Supporting instrument design and installation concepts
Ensuring proper integration between field instruments and plant design / 3D models
Selection and optimization of instrument hook-ups and installation details
Performing spot checks on vendor documentation and drawings
Reviewing instrumentation elements within 3D models
Supporting the integration of instrumentation within package units

What do you need

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or similar
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Instrument Engineer within the process industry, energy, or oil & gas sector
  • Experience with field instrumentation selection and specification
  • Experience preparing instrument requisitions and reviewing vendor documentation
  • Knowledge of instrument installation design and hook-ups
  • Experience working with package units
  • Experience in EPC project environments is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D engineering tools such as SmartPlant, E3D, or similar is an advantage
