You'll be based in Zaandam and work within our client's West Netherlands division. This team of around 30 professionals handles cost estimations for both industrial and utility construction and renovation projects. Collaboration is central. You’ll work alongside clients, advisors, project managers, and directors, often as part of tender teams aiming to deliver competitive and winning proposals.

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer with background in Piping & Mechanical to join the team responsible for delivering high-quality cost estimations for complex industrial projects. In this role, you will transform customer requirements into solid budgets, striking the right balance between detail and precision depending on the available information and the project phase. One day, you may be creating a detailed cost breakdown; the next, you’ll be drafting a high-level estimate based on a conceptual design, always identifying and quantifying risks and opportunities.
You’ll focus on industrial new-build and renovation projects. These heavy-industrial and chemical projects are for prominent clients in the industry, such as Dow and Yara.
What do you need
- A completed technical MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- At least 8 years of professional experience, including 3 years as a cost engineer or estimator in piping & mechanical
- Strong sense of initiative, decisiveness, and commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A client-focused mindset and a collaborative working style
