Currently they are on a lookout for for a Cost Engineer with background in Mechanical Engineering with particular focus on HVAC. You will play a key role in delivering industrial projects at the best possible cost. From tender to completion, you’ll be involved in high-impact utility projects, both renovations and new builds, where your insights and calculations directly influence project success.
As a cost engineer, you'll prepare class 1 detailed cost estimates and budgets, including pre-engineering activities during the tender phase. You’ll visit customer and project sites to understand technical requirements, define project scopes, and sometimes draft the work specifications yourself. Your responsibility spans small to large-scale projects, where you account for materials, subcontractors, and labor hours.
You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all financial and technical aspects align. Risk awareness and financial control are key parts of your role, as is your ability to act as a trusted advisor throughout the process.
What do you need
- MBO or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Min. 8+ years of experience as a calculator or cost engineer in mechanical engineering, or strong ambition to grow into the role standards
- Skilled in preparing calculations and budgets for installation projects, especially with focus on HVAC
- Able to identify project risks and manage financial aspects effectively
- Preferred: knowledge of ATEX standards
- Analytical, hands-on, commercially minded, and a team player who meets deadlines
