We are seeking a Medior Secondary Engineer to support the design and delivery of high-voltage substation projects. This role focuses on secondary systems including protection, control, automation, and telecommunications. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient substation solutions.

As a Medior Secondary Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of secondary systems within high-voltage substations. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing secondary systems including protection, control, automation, and telecommunications
- Preparing technical documentation such as: Single line diagrams
- Trip matrices
- Schematic and wiring diagrams
- Logic diagrams and IO lists
- Panel layouts and terminal wiring diagrams
- Control and LV cable lists
- Secondary cable routing layouts
- Load lists and AC/DC calculations
- Battery and diesel generator sizing calculations
- Telecommunication block schematics
- Selecting and specifying equipment such as relays, meters, communication devices, and control panels
- Coordinating with primary engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems
- Supporting protection and coordination studies to ensure system reliability and safety
- Participating in site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and standards
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support project delivery
What do you need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Approximately 3-6 years of experience in secondary engineering within high-voltage substations
- Strong knowledge of protection, control, and telecommunications systems
- Experience with electrical engineering software such as DIgSILENT, EPLAN, ETAP, PSCAD, or similar (ELCAD/AUCOPLAN is a plus)
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and ANSI
- Experience with IEC 61850 system design and configuration is an advantage
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in international teams
