Do you have hands-on maintenance experience and know what technicians need to work safely and efficiently? As a Maintenance Job Card Engineer, you will turn technical information and practical maintenance knowledge into clear, standardized job cards for offshore substations.

Company information

Our client is an engineering consultancy that originally specialized in the oil and gas industry, where they established themselves as a major player in production platform development. However, as the energy sector evolves, the company has strategically shifted its focus toward renewable energy, particularly wind energy projects. They are one of the strongest players in this field.

Vacancy information

As a Maintenance Job Card Engineer, you will develop practical maintenance job cards for equipment and systems on offshore substations, ensuring technicians have clear, safe work instructions. Using vendor manuals, technical drawings, 3D models and maintenance requirements, you will translate technical information into step-by-step instructions covering preparation, execution, inspection and completion.

Thinking from the technician's perspective, you will specify required tools, equipment, consumables and spare parts, plus any preparatory work needed. You will develop job cards across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and HVAC disciplines for equipment like pumps, valves and ventilation systems, with maintenance intervals ranging from annual to five-year activities. The 3D model helps you assess accessibility and identify practical challenges before offshore work begins.

  • Your main responsibilities include:
  • Developing and standardizing preventive and periodic maintenance job cards.
  • Translating manuals and vendor documentation into practical step-by-step instructions.
  • Defining preparation, execution, inspection and completion activities.
  • Specifying tools, spare parts, consumables and measuring equipment.
  • Assessing accessibility and maintainability using 3D models.
  • Incorporating safety measures, isolation requirements and preparatory activities.
  • Coordinating with maintenance engineers and technical specialists when additional information is required.
  • The role is particularly suited to an experienced maintenance technician, supervisor or work preparer/planner who wants to apply hands-on knowledge in a more engineering-focused, office-based position.

What do you need

  • Hands-on industrial maintenance experience, ideally as a technician, maintenance supervisor or work preparer/planner
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and/or HVAC systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and maintenance documentation
  • Strong understanding of maintenance activities, tools, spare parts, preparation and safety requirements
