Lead Instrumentation Engineer (Portfolio Projects) – Den Haag

Introduction

Our client is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Instrumentation Engineer to join their team and take on a pivotal role in managing several small projects.

Our client is a global provider of professional services in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors. They deliver projects and provide engineering, procurement and construction expertise to the upstream, midstream, chemicals, power, and mining and minerals sectors.

Function

As a Lead Instrumentation Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in ICS instrument engineering to ensure the successful execution of projects while supervising the instrumentation project team, both on-site in the Netherlands and remotely. 

  • Take a lead role in managing multiple small or one medium-sized instrumentation projects within our customer’s portfolio. Ensure adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing. Collaborate closely with the ICS team, as well as other departments involved in the projects, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources efficiently. Take ownership of the project scope, budget, and schedule, proactively addressing any potential risks or issues.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, including the customer, to understand their requirements and ensure their satisfaction. Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns, and build strong relationships based on trust and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ICS instrument engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in a lead engineer role.
  • Strong ability to work independently and report to the program focal point and/or project engineer/manager.
  • Proficiency in checking and reviewing deliverables produced by the project team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive and pragmatic mentality, able to take ownership of project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively managing time and resources.
  • Familiarity with the work sharing concept and experience in collaborating with remote offices.
  • Strong team player, capable of working collaboratively within the ICS team and in coordination with other departments.
