As a Lead Engineer/Constructor you will work on designing and drawing piping systems/piping for ships using Cadmatic. You do this on the basis of customer specifications and the applicable quality requirements. You are actively routing yourself and you also coordinate sub-projects, in which you manage a small team (2-4 people). As a Lead Engineer you also manage costs and hours and focus on improvement and innovation in your work. In this position you work in project teams with colleagues who are specialized in various areas.
You support colleagues in making technical choices and you act as a source of information and mentor for Engineers. You enter into discussions with the team and monitor the progress and quality of projects. In this position you also have a lot of contact with customers & suppliers and you are able to maintain and possibly expand these relationships. Internally, you regularly consult with the Engineering Group Leaders and Project Leaders. The Engineering department currently consists of 4 Engineering Group Leaders, 7 Lead Engineers and 19 Draftsmen/Engineers. For this position, working from home is possible and you will be present at the office at least two days a week.
For this position, it is important that you have system knowledge. This concerns mechanical systems on board ships. You preferably have a maritime or naval architecture background and extensive experience as an Engineer/Naval Architect in the shipbuilding industry. You have leadership capacities and the ambition to further develop yourself in this area. In addition, you are enthusiastic, and flexible and you act proactively.
It would also be great if you have (at least) a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering. You master the English language. Finally, for this position, it is important that you have experience with Cadmatic, Siemens NX, or comparable software.
